Complementing the exhibition Andrew Wyeth: Running with the Land, this installation features work by family patriarch N. C. Wyeth and his children Andrew, Henriette, and Carolyn, all of whom received art instruction from their father. The "connectedness" of the show's title refers not only to the inspiration derived by the artists from the people and places of their family homes in Pennsylvania and Maine, but also to the ways that compositions evolve through stages of conceptual and technical refinement as different media are employed in service to the artist's final vision. This is explored in the juxtapositions of pencil and watercolor studies by Andrew Wyeth that lead to final versions in watercolor or egg tempera--illustrating an academic art-making process that N. C. Wyeth applied to the education of his children. Back Andrew Wyeth (1917 - 2009) Barefoot 1992 watercolor on paper view
